No. SG Tracker works fully offline with no account — all your rounds are saved on your device. Creating a free account is optional and only needed if you want your data to sync across an iPhone, iPad, and desktop.
Yes. The app is built to work fully offline on the course — every part of entering a round, from tee shot to the final putt, works with no wifi or cell signal. If you're signed in, anything you enter syncs automatically the next time you're back online.
SG Tracker uses the standard strokes-gained method, comparing each shot's outcome against baseline expected-strokes data for players at your level, broken out by category: Off the Tee, Approach, Around the Green, Recovery, and Putting.
